Update: St Andrews Fair

So after a couple of weeks hurriedly making and preparing for my first craft fair it has now been and gone! I feel that it was a necessary and worthwhile challenge as I received some great feedback and have developed some new ideas for future fairs... not to mention gaining valuable experience and most importantly getting my work seen and meeting fellow makers! Above are some images of my stall.

St Andrews Craft Fair August 2011

I am taking part in the St Andrews Craft Fair which takes place this august bank holiday... August 27th-29th. It has been organised by Faye Scott-Farrington in order to promote St Andrews Courts new spaces opening to get new smaller businesses using the spaces. I thought this would be a great opportunity to test out my produce on the public as the stalls are free in order to create publicity for the court. This is a link to the website Faye has created...

Hopefully people will like my work and be able to give me valuable feedback on what they prefer so as to get a knowledge of the market. My first day on the stall is tomorrow so fingers crossed it is a success!

Back in business

After a long absence of over a year I am back to update and refresh my blog and show the new work I am producing! I felt it was time to embrace my creative streak and have decided to try my hand at selling my wares. My passion for interiors is still going strong so I decided to make some cushions which I hope would fit in any household.. and also help recycle excess fabric that I have! Here are a few examples... more will be on the way.

These are stickers which I installed around the studio. As shown, their applications can be varied even in a limited space.

Visuals

I was unable to get access to commerical space to install my 'sticker' designs, so I decided to create smaller versions in my flat.

Scale Up

I decided to increase the scale on my models in order to estimate the time needed to create my final piece. I am still unsure of what line quality I should use, but have adopted the flock vinyl in place of the drawn line to add texture to the piece.
